We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Purchaser to join large-scale data center projects in Narvik. Relocation or commuting is possible, and we offer the same rotation arrangements available across our project positions. Whether you are already based in Northern Norway or currently working elsewhere, both relocation and commuting are possible. Flexible work schedules include weekly commuting, 3 weeks on/1 week off, or 10 days on/4 days off. Accommodation and travel are provided according to the agreed work schedule.

You will work closely with suppliers, project teams, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure materials, equipment, and services are secured at the right quality, cost, and time to support project progress..

Key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing & Purchasing: Source materials, equipment, and services, obtain and compare quotations, and create and follow up purchase orders.
  • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers, build strong supplier relationships, and support vendor evaluations.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supplier agreements while identifying potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Order & Delivery Coordination: Track orders, monitor inventory requirements, and coordinate with project, warehouse, logistics, and delivery teams to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Procurement Control & Reporting: Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, monitor costs, prepare reports and spend analyses, and resolve supplier, quality, or delivery issues.

Who We're Looking For

You have previous experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, retail purchasing, or administration, preferably within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or another project-based environment.

You are organised, commercially aware, and comfortable communicating and negotiating with suppliers. You are able to manage multiple orders and priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field is desirable
  • Previous purchasing, procurement, supply chain, retail, or relevant administrative experience
  • Experience working with suppliers and purchasing processes
  • Experience with inventory management is advantageous
  • Construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project experience is desirable
  • Good understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Experience with purchasing or ERP systems is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Good negotiation and communication skills
  • Fluent English, written and spoken
  • Structured, proactive, and detail-oriented approach
