We are now recruiting an HSE Officer for a permanent position with CTS Nordics, supporting one of their major projects in the Narvik area. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in the rapidly expanding data center industry, working on complex and technically advanced projects while helping to create a safe and compliant working environment.
Whether you are already based in the Narvik area or currently working elsewhere in Norway, this role offers flexibility. Candidates who do not wish to relocate can choose from several work schedules, including weekly commuting, 3 weeks on/1 week off, or 10 days on/4 days off. CTS Nordics provides accommodation in Narvik and covers travel costs related to the agreed rotation schedule. English is the working language on site, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates from diverse professional backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety observations, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team
- Monitor HSE compliance and support the implementation of safe working practices
- Assist with incident investigations and follow up corrective actions
- Deliver site inductions and support daily toolbox talks
- Support contractor engagement on hazard identification and risk control measures
- Verify that equipment, permits, and access systems comply with project and regulatory requirements
- Participate in emergency preparedness activities and drills
- Support internal and external HSE audits, including client and authority inspections
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, photographic documentation, and site logs
- Provide day-to-day HSE guidance to supervisors, workers, and subcontractors
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of a positive safety culture
Required Skills and Experience
- 2 years of experience or more in HSE roles within construction, engineering, industrial, infrastructure, energy, oil & gas, or similar project environments
- Good understanding of Norwegian HSE legislation and construction safety requirements
- Experience with inspections, audits, incident reporting, and corrective action follow-up
- Ability to identify risks and support implementation of effective control measures
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital HSE systems
- Professional or fluent English, both written and spoken
It’s an Advantage if You Have
- Experience from data center construction projects
- NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001 certification, or similar HSE qualifications
- Relevant education within HSE, engineering, technical disciplines, or related fields
- Experience supporting behavioral safety programs, audits, and incident management processes
